Patient Selfies

Over time, expression lines on your face can become permanent, resulting in unwanted creases and wrinkles. Fortunately, there are many surgical and non-invasive facial rejuvenation options to help men and women combat these signs of aging and enjoy a youthful, vibrant appearance.

BOTOX® is an injectable cosmetic treatment that dramatically smoothes fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that create them, resulting in a revitalized look. Our highly skilled plastic surgeon, Dr. Oren Mushin, performs all the injections in our MedSpa, so you can rest assured you are getting the highest level of expertise. Call our team today to learn more about BOTOX® in Houston and the other aesthetic treatment options we offer.

What To Expect When Getting BOTOX®

BOTOX® functions by blocking the nerve signals to the muscles into which it is injected. This inhibits the muscle contractions responsible for frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead furrows, and other facial lines and wrinkles. Other areas that can be treated with BOTOX® in Houston include neck bands, large jaw muscles, lip lines, and gummy smiles. During your initial consultation, Dr. Mushin will provide you with a comprehensive skin assessment and review your medical history. He will create an individualized treatment plan based on your unique needs to help you look and feel your best.

The procedure is relatively painless and typically takes only 10 to 15 minutes. The number of injections you need depends on your facial anatomy, the areas requiring treatment, and your overall goals. BOTOX® is sometimes referred to as a “lunchtime procedure” since no downtime is necessary for recovery. However, it is important to avoid rubbing, massaging, or compressing the treated area for several hours after your appointment.

Although it can take seven to 10 days following your treatment to begin seeing results, you can enjoy the full effects of BOTOX® for up to four months. To maintain your results, you should schedule maintenance appointments every three to six months, or as your surgeon directs.

Combining BOTOX® With Other Treatments

A combination approach may offer you the best results for your specific aesthetic goals. Some people use BOTOX® in Houston to address forehead wrinkles, while also opting for a dermal filler (such as RHA) to address areas of volume loss in the lips and cheeks.

BOTOX® can also be combined with other procedures—including facials, microneedling, and certain laser therapies—to enhance your results further. Injections are also frequently used alongside surgical treatments including the mommy makeover, daddy do-over, tummy tucks, liposuction, and breast surgeries.

Most people who are at least 18 years old and wish to reduce the appearance of lines or wrinkles may be a candidate for BOTOX®. However, this treatment is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women. Having a consultation prior to any procedure is important to ensure it is a healthy and viable option for you.
